5 Simple exercises to keep your day going at work

5 exercises to keep your day going at work

We all have felt those slow mornings. Working on computer and suddenly our eyes just keeps dropping. Well, apart from taking a nice hot coffee to boost your day, here are some exercises you can do while at your desk to keep your day going at work.

It is a fact that slouching and sitting hunched over a desk for a full day is bad for your neck and shoulders. Sitting up straight benefits your spine and allows your brain stem to find the best position for blood flow and energy stimulation.

Shoulder shrug is easy and a very useful exercise you can do within your workspace. Raise your shoulders up toward your ears, hold for 5 seconds, and then relax.

Hip stretches are perfect for blood circulation and it can be done without leaving your desk. Just simply sit on the edge of your chair then place your right ankle over your left knee. Keep your back straight while inhaling and exhaling for up to 10 counts. Switch sides and repeat.

This exercise is hardly noticeable underneath the desk. While seated, straighten one or both legs and hold in place for five or more seconds. Lower the leg or both to the ground without letting the feet touch the floor. Repeat 15 times. (Either alternating legs or both legs raised)
